Long Island Iced Tea – I’m really not sure
The Long Island Iced Tea. I’m really not sure about this cocktail. Not sure it’d make my Top 100 but it’s a well-known and popular cocktail. It lacks subtlety and if it was a car it’d be an American large block V8. A monster of a cocktail. 7 ingredients.
6 overrated cocktails
6 overrated cocktails. Some just don’t work while others aren’t real cocktails.
Rum is a great spirit for Summer
Rum is a great spirit that sums up Summer. With a choice of white, spiced, golden and dark rums there is lots you can do with it, to make a range of great cocktails. Put aside your Bacardi, and try some Havana Club, or mellow aged rums.
Caribbean Black Iced Tea – an attempt to improve the Long Island Iced Tea
The Caribbean Black Iced Tea is a variant of the traditional Long Island Iced Tea. The key difference though is that I’ve swapped out the white spirits and replaced them with the more mellow, more complex, frankly better dark spirits.

Not real cocktails
Cocktails that aren’t real cocktails. There is some kidology in the world of mixology. These are some cocktails that masquerade under fancy-sounding cocktail names, but in fact are just a spirit and mix. Nothing wrong with a spirit and mix, but nevertheless these aren’t cocktails. Not in my book at least.
Sandbar – Pina Colada flavour profile cocktail
Sandbar is a newly created cocktail inspired by the flavour profile of the classic Pina Colada.
Mojito – an enigmatic cocktail
The Mojito is a classic modern cocktail popular with just about everybody.
